The land for Connell Park was given to the City of Scranton by my great uncle, William Connell. He would certainly be pleased, as I am, by the way Mayor Doherty has revitalized the Park and the new Dog Park is a great addition. I wish I could be there for the dedication but I will be out of the state.

It seems there was a time when the dog park was a more fun place. Now it’s just sad. We visited there 8/9/14. Shabby expanse of grass with a fence around it, with separate little dog space. Nothing for dogs to do. No ramps, tunnels, water. No dog poop bags in the bag holders, which were broken. The water fountain doesn’t work. No comfortable place to sit. Basically, a sad, pathetic excuse for a dog park. We were sooo disappointed.
