Scranton politics back in national spotlight

After Northeastern Pennsylvania played a key role in the Democratic primary in April, a Scranton political consultant is keeping the national spotlight on our region by documenting the deliberations of a (fake) superdelegate and mayoral candidate.

Howard Thomas, a local consultant for the Democratic party, created non-existent superdelegate Tom Ryan and has drawn the attention of Wired magazine’s political blog.

Thomas, who has worked on campaigns for Howard Dean and John Kerry, developed the character as part of a series that will draw upon his experiences in the political arena.

More episodes will be released in the coming weeks, leading up to the Democratic National Convention in August.
