Scranhattan, First Friday wrap up

It was a holiday weekend but you couldn’t tell from all the activity in the downtown. The weekend included the First Friday art walk Friday night and the first-ever Scranhattan Festival of arts and culture going on all weekend long.

Falling on the Fourth of July this year led to a less-than-normal number of venues, but the Northeastern Pennsylvania art lovers who did turn out on Friday were not disappointed with three different exhibits at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, three more at the Manhattan Room Project and a great crowd at the always-dependable AFA Gallery.

The inaugural Scrahattan Festival was a huge success with great crowds all weekend long visiting the downtown area to enjoy the art, poetry, theatre, film and music being produced by our Scranton-area artists.
