Race For The Cure

Lace up your sneakers and hit the streets of Scranton to help battle breast cancer during the 18th annual Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Race for the CureThe event starts at 7 a.m. at Courthouse Square in Scranton with a welcome ceremony. You can join in an aerobic workout at 7:30 a.m. At 7:45 a.m. a celebration is held for cancer survivors in attendance. Then survivors walk in the “Parade of Pink” toward the start line and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. Participants can take part in a 5K co-ed run/walk or a one-mile fun walk.

Since the race first began in September 1991, more than 80,000 participants have raced or walked, helping to raise more than one million dollars for education, early detection screening, research, and treatment programs. Up to 75% of the net proceeds from the Race for the Cure stays in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The event will be held rain or shine and awards will be presented after the race. Sign up today!

    I was just wondering if by chance my niece can be a part of the opening ceremony. She can sing this beautiful song Won’t let go by Rascal Flatts. If you would like to hear her you can just call and set up a time and we will bring her for you to hear. Thank you 362-8403
