Summer Concert Series on Courthouse Square

The Summer Concert Series got started on Saturday but there are three more weeks to catch local musical acts performing free, back-to-back concerts on Courthouse Square.

Each Saturday night from 5:30-10:30 p.m. for the next three weeks, two area bands will perform – the first act from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; the second from 8:30-10:30 p.m. – as part of the Summer Concert Series. Musical styles range from big band, swing and polka to jazz, rock and country.

The series started on July 10 with the Gene Dempsey Orchestra and the Poets. This Saturday, July 17, The Doug Smith 16 Piece Big Band will perform music from the Swing Era from 5:30-7:30 p.m., followed by Take 5 from 8:30-10:30 p.m. with the very best classic and modern rock.

On Saturday, July 24, The Upper Valley Wind Ensemble, offering marches, Broadway and film scores and patriotic music, will take the stage from 5:30-7:30 p.m., followed by The Bog Swing Band performing acoustic swing.

The series wraps up on Saturday, July 31, with polka by John Stanky and the Coalminers from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and funk, jazz and jam grooves by Mojomo from 8:30-10:30 p.m.
