Preview the new Commonwealth Medical College
Get a look at Scranton’s first medical school next week when The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC) hosts a Building Our Foundation groundbreaking celebration on Tuesday, August 19.
The event starts at the building site on Pine Street, Scranton, at noon where visitors will receive a stone to inscribe with their name. Stones will then be added to the school’s construction foundation.
Afterward, the celebration moves to TCMC’s Lackawanna College facilities from 1-3 p.m. for a reception with the Dean, board and faculty of the new school and a preview of what’s to come when TCMC opens to students. Classes are set to begin in the fall of 2009. Construction on the Pine Street location should be completed by 2011.
